The Alps 5@50 Tour - Part 1

Here’s the story of Simon’s week in the Alps, a chance to prove that even at 50 he could still conquer a clutch of iconic Tour de France climbs and live to tell the tale...

The Tour of Limassol 2018

The 'tour' is an annual sportive traditionally organised by a local bike shop here in Limassol. This year we organised an updated - and arguably harder - edition of it. Here's a taste in words, pictures and video.

The Circuit

Our circumnavigation of Cyprus by bike. We covered more than 600 km and climbed over 6,000 metres during three punishing days in the saddle. This is the story of the ride in our own words.

Climbing Don Quixote

We take a crack at the Don Quixote, a stinging little climb from the village of Arakapas north of Limassol that’s a regular training haunt of Russian pro Ilnur Zakarin.

Ascent to the Berengaria Hotel

Everyone likes exploring a old ruin right? This was a rollercoaster ride of cheeky climbs, kamikaze descents and baking hot roads as we headed for the island's most famous abandoned hotel.

Climb to Kionia radar station

The 'golf balls' on top of Troodos are one of the island's landmarks, but there's another less well known communications station at Kionia, high above the beautiful Machairas Forest.

The Winery Loop

The countryside to the west of Limassol is dotted with villages, steep ramps and sweeping bends. It's also one of the island's key winemaking regions. We headed out in search of a good Shiraz..

Everesting.....well almost

So I'd thought about it for a while..but the time had come to give it a crack. Climbing the height of Mount Everest, in a day, on a bike. Here's the story of my Everesting attempt, (literally) the highs and the lows....and a few lessons learned along the way.
